We believe that improvement in international cardiovascular public health
outcomes will require an increasing focus on peripheral arterial disease (PAD).
In turn, acceleration in achieving improvements in PAD outcomes will require
effective and collaborative interactions amongst clinicians, research funding
organizations, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers, payers and
regulators.
This conference is aimed at analyzing these interactions and
discussing likely future developments. Participants will primarily be key
representatives of these organizations. The format of the meeting will be small
sessions with experts addressing specific questions, followed by an open
discussion in which we hope that all participants will actively take part. There
will be no parallel sessions. The program is designed to include 7 general
sessions, with each to include 4 expert presentations. Well known international
speakers will be selected to provide background and perspective on each of these
topics, based on current global knowledge, experience and competence, and
representing both Europe and the USA.
